Importing Data

Upload a spreadsheet to add riders in bulk, either to your club directory or to a specific event. The importer handles ACU, TrialMonster, and generic CSV formats automatically.

1. What you can import

There are two import targets:

  • Rider directory — adds riders to your club's shared directory. Useful when you are setting up the club for the first time or bringing in riders from a previous system.
  • Event entries — registers riders for a specific event. Use this after exporting from ACU or TrialMonster, or when you have a spreadsheet of pre-registered riders.

Both targets work with the same upload and column-mapping flow. The difference is where the data ends up.

2. Formats we accept

The importer accepts CSV and Excel (XLSX) files. It recognises three formats automatically:

  • ACU export — the CSV produced by the ACU online entry system. The importer detects columns such as Membership No, Surname, and Category and maps them automatically.
  • TrialMonster export — the CSV produced by the TrialMonster entry platform. The importer detects columns such as MemberNumber, EntryClass, and Surname and maps them automatically.
  • Generic CSV or Excel — any file with recognisable column names such as Full Name, Class, and Bike. The mapping step lets you correct any columns the importer could not match automatically.

When the importer detects the format, it shows a badge on the column-mapping step so you know it has picked up the right layout.

3. How to export from the ACU online entry system

  1. Log in to your ACU club account and open the event.
  2. Go to the entries list for the event.
  3. Use the Export or Download button to save the entries as a CSV file.
  4. Upload that file directly into the Trials Scorecard importer. No formatting changes are needed.

The ACU export includes each rider's ACU membership number. This is saved as the licence number and can be used to detect duplicate entries.

4. How to export from TrialMonster

  1. Log in to your TrialMonster organiser account and open the event.
  2. Go to the entries list or entry report.
  3. Export the entries as a CSV file.
  4. Upload that file into the Trials Scorecard importer. Columns will be detected and mapped automatically.

5. What happens to duplicate riders

The importer checks each row against riders already in the event or directory. If it finds a likely duplicate — same name and class, same rider number, or the same licence number — it flags the row with a warning rather than blocking it outright.

You can review flagged rows in the Duplicates tab and decide whether to skip them or include them anyway. Rows with errors must be fixed or skipped before you can import.

6. Download sample files

Use these files to test the importer or as a starting point for your own spreadsheets.
